Charys' Cotton Companies Deploy Teams in Aftermath of Texas Storms
ATLANTA--July 10, 2007--Charys Holding Company, Inc. ("Charys") (OTC Bulletin Board: CHYS - News) a provider of restoration and reconstruction services, wireless communications, and data infrastructure today announced that its restoration and reconstruction division, Cotton Companies ("Cotton"), has actively been deploying Rapid Response Teams on numerous restoration contracts across the USA.
In the past two weeks, storms have ravaged north and central parts of Texas, resulting in 11 deaths and the evacuation of thousands of people from their homes; Cotton has been busy deploying teams around the state. A nursing home and funeral home in the city of Austin, experiencing its wettest year on record with more than 30 inches of rain since January, have contracted with Cotton for restoration services. Members of Cotton's Preferred Client Program have employed Cotton for multiple retail locations, including a hotel in Dallas. The federal courthouse in Sherman, Texas has also contracted through the Cotton Federal GSA contract for restoration following water damage caused by the storms.
In addition to the storm damage, Cotton has simultaneously been responding to several areas devastated by fires. In Arizona, Nebraska, and Georgia, Cotton is employed in efforts including restaurant, travel center and school restorations. A local school and a commercial high-rise in downtown Houston have employed Cotton for fire recovery services.
Pete Bell, Cotton CEO, commented, "Damage caused by fires and floods can leave businesses in ruins and lives disrupted, but we have the manpower and skill to quickly restore normal business operations and bring peace of mind to those displaced. Through rapid response and mobilization, whether it is drying and dehumidification or cleaning and decontamination, Cotton has the equipment and personnel in place to minimize business interruption, saving time, money and headaches."
Charys' CEO and Chairman Billy V. Ray, Jr. stated, "As we move through this season of severe weather across the country, Cotton's professionals are helping many who could otherwise remain in distress for much longer periods. The team is deploying quickly, well prepared with staging in several key locations to immediately provide assistance where needed."
